Is Censorship the Left's Tool to Maintain Control?
Enter Elon Musk: the Guardian of America’s 1st Amendment
On Monday evening, Elon Musk, conducted a high-profile interview with former President Donald Trump—an event that many on the political Left appeared eager to censor or completely shut down. A series of unusual incidents unfolded, appearing to be deliberate attempts to undermine the interview.
The day began with European Union official Thierry Breton sending a threatening letter to Musk, aimed at undermining the interview. Later, a White House reporter from The Washington Post questioned the Press Secretary about whether the Biden Administration should intervene in censoring the event. Then, as the interview was about to start, X's network was hit by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) cyberattack, preventing the audience from accessing X’s Spaces service and delaying the interview by 40 minutes.
The interview finally did occur, turning out to be one of the most successful live events in the Internet's history, where tens of millions of X users listened to Musk and Trump's conversation.
Musk extended an invitation to presidential candidate Kamala Harris for an interview on X, however, her team has not yet responded to the offer.

Between 7:47 PM and 10:47 PM ET, President Donald Trump's Space post received 73 million views. During the same period, there were 4 million posts about Elon Musk and President Trump's conversation on 𝕏, generating a total of 998 million views.

Bongino: Don't Lose the Big Picture, Kamala's Lack of Engagement is Intentional
The following day, on his show, The Dan Bongino Show, Dan Bongino makes a compelling claim that the political Left is intent on restricting the First Amendment in order to steal the election for Kamala Harris. Not only does he point to the events leading up to the Musk-Trump interview on X, but he presents an April 2024 Heritage Foundation symposium with Mike Benz, founder of Foundation For Freedom Online and former U.S. State Department official. At the symposium, Benz critiques the EU's Digital Services Act, which he believes operates as a NATO initiative. He argues that the law creates a new standard on how to handle misinformation and paves the way for a new industry dedicated to speech compliance.
After playing the Benz clip, Bongino emphasizes:
“...I don't want you to lose the big picture. There are a group of digital tyrants out there. It's a big cabal of people. They all have one goal in mind. To shut you up. That's it. To shut you down.
“They know they will never lose an election again if they do the Kamala-Harris thing: sit on the sidelines, say nothing, and censor every conservative from going after the policy proposals Kamala Harris put out there in the past. They can't lose that way. It is a total information asymmetry, and you are the enemy."

During a press conference, on the same day as the Musk-Trump interview, Washington Post correspondent Cleve Wootsen revealed his leftist-leanings when he questioned the White House Press Secretary about the role the Biden Administration should play in countering potential misinformation from the Musk-Trump interview.
Press Secretary Jean-Pierre answered,
"...you've heard us talk about this many times from here about the responsibilities that social media platforms have when it comes to misinformation, disinformation..."
Bongino points out the irony that the reporter who asked the question represents a news publication that's shown to have spread misinformation, such as about Biden's cognitive abilities.
