Sound of Freedom: The Eye-Opening Indie Film

On Fourth of July, an unexpected cinematic gem emerged out of nowhere, ascending to the pinnacle of the box office in a breathtaking triumph. In a spectacular fashion, Sound of Freedom surpassed the colossal juggernauts of Disney’s Indiana Jones sequel, Elemental, and even the enchanting allure of The Little Mermaid, accomplishing this feat with a mere fraction of their big studio budgets.

About the film

Channeling the unwavering resolve of Tim Ballard, portrayed by Jim Caviezel, the former Homeland Security Special Agent and driving force behind Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), Sound of Freedom plunges audiences into an extraordinary odyssey, immersing them into Ballard’s story of relentlessly pursuing the rescue of innocent children ensnared within the depths of human trafficking networks. With unflinching courage, this remarkable film lays bare the true underbelly of society, compelling us all to confront the stark realities of the child sex slave black market. Immersed in the powerful narrative of this film, countless movie-goers will find themselves moved to tears by its emotional impact. It will compel you to take action.

Variety magazine on Sound of Freedom:

“Wearing a trim dark beard and coppery blond hair, Caviezel plays Ballard as a beatific G.I. Joe meets George C. Scott in Hardcore meets an avenging Jesus.

“…you needn’t hold extreme beliefs to experience Sound of Freedom as a compelling movie that shines an authentic light on one of the crucial criminal horrors of our time, one that Hollywood has mostly shied away from. The film was completed in 2018 and then shelved by Disney (after it acquired 20th Century Fox, the film’s original studio). It was finally bought back and is now being distributed independently.

“It’s not a glorified Rambo movie or a Netflix thriller pretending to be serious. When the deliverance we’ve been seeking arrives, it feels earned. In a conventional pulp way, we’ve glimpsed the heart of darkness. We’ve seen something about our world that makes the desire to ‘take action’ seem more than an action-movie gesture.”

According to Box Office Mojo, a film performance tracking service, Sound of Freedom has defied expectations and surpassed big-budget summer blockbusters in terms of box office success through powerful word-of-mouth momentum. These outstanding results are reflected in the latest box office receipts as of July 11, 2023.

Glenn Beck’s Sound of Freedom

The Benefactor Behind the Fight Against Human Trafficking

In a gripping scene from Sound of Freedom, Tim Ballard faces a difficult choice: leaving his Homeland Security job to embark on a mission to rescue trafficked children in foreign lands. The film portrays Ballard’s journey as he seeks financial support from a fictional real estate mogul, mirroring the real-life role played by Glenn Beck. The Nazarene Fund, co-founded by Beck and Ballard — and funded by Beck’s audience — provided the crucial funding for this life-saving rescue mission. This inspiring collaboration highlights the power of individuals coming together to make a tangible difference in the fight against human trafficking.

In 2021, Glenn Beck had Tim Ballard of Operation Underground Railroad and The Nazarene Fund on his BlazeTV program. In this interview, Tim recounts a successful operation to rescue women from human trafficking. Additionally, he unveils the shocking profitability of the trafficking business under the policies of the Biden Administration.

Mira Sorvino’s Sound of Freedom Interview

Actress Mira Sorvino, who portrays Tim Ballard’s wife in the film, has been a tireless advocate against human sex trafficking since the early 2000s. Recognizing the urgency, Sorvino emphasizes the importance of addressing the underlying factors contributing to child sex trafficking. She highlights the need to tackle issues like the failed foster care system, domestic abuse, and educational gaps. A Disturbing Reality

U.S. leads the World in demand for inbound trafficking of children for sex exploitation.

Starting in 2017, the United Nations’ Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has released an annual report on human trafficking. And with each passing year, the global demand for human trafficking increases.

The following are highlights from the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2022, as published by the UNODC.

Testimony: Human Traffickers are Leveraging U.S. Border Immigration Policy
